Le Baril Roulante (Val David)

Beer alcohol content is rated like ski runs!
OK, this magnificent microbrasserie (French for "beer bar") is not in Mont Tremblant, but it is just a 20-minute drive away in Val David.  And considering they feature sixteen taps of quality Quebec microbrew, it is worth the trip.  If you haven't seen Val David, you're missing a cute Laurentian town that keeps getting better every time we visit.

Le Baril is not a huge place but has a great patio and a quirky interior.  The bar is in the back, and the chalkboard beer list spans the bar over top the glassware rack.  In true ski-town style, the beer alcohol content is rated like ski runs: green for low alcohol, blue for moderate and black diamond for high-octane brews.  And all the beer is excellent...not a single mass-produced tap to be found.

The stunning array of taps...sooooo good!
We have visited a couple times and the taps seem to rotate nicely, so you're likely to be able to try something new each time.  We haven't tried the food yet but will next time we're in town...this is to our knowledge the best beer bar in the Laurentians...cheers!

June 2015 Update

We flew up to Tremblant for a quick June weekend, and dropped by the Baril for an early dinner on our way to back to the Montreal airport.  I had the veggie burger and Karen tried a curry sausage dish...they were absolutely outstanding.  I took a photo because the presentation was so splendid, although I won't share the pic because I find even the prettiest dishes just aren't photogenic.  This was the first time we had a meal here and were blown away...highly recommended for both food and beer!!
