The SAQ in Tremblant village - so cute!

Yes, shopping should be all about glamourous stuff like fashion, trinkets, baubles and gewgaws.  But sometimes, you just need to find basic essentials, especially when you're on vacation.  So here's your guide to finding the basics in the Mont Tremblant area.  If you're staying in the resort village and don't have a car, you can likely get everything you need.  There's a cute little SAQ (liquor store) right in the village, near the Hilton.  There's also a small general store in the village that offers a wide range of choices...you can read about both on the Tremblant website.

If you're not tied to the resort and can get into St. Jovite, your shopping options are astronomically better.  At the west end of Rue St. Jovite, you'll find the Metro, the Jean Coutu (drugstore) and the SAQ, with a far deeper selection of fine wines, spirits and beers than you can find in the resort location.  On the east end, you'll find several more grocery stores including the amazing IGA.  You'll also find the Canadian Tire if you need it!
