Au Coin

My wife and I love pubs, and there were none in Mont Tremblant.  The region is so amazing that we didn't let that stop us from buying a chalet in the area.  But we must have been emitting subconscious wishes to the gods, because one day, a pub emerged: Au Coin.  Situated in the Old Tremblant village, Au Coin is a beautiful pub and elegant French restaurant rolled into one.  It's part of the historic Hotel Mont Tremblant and they do offer lodging.  But our experience has been limited to eating and drinking.

A daytime view into the beautiful dining room
On the pub side, you have a magnificent wooden bar with many tables looking out onto the street through a windowed wall, which adjoins a huge patio.  Around the corner, there's the restaurant, small and cosy, with views of Lac Mercier.  As a beer snob, I do find their tap list extremely limited, but I can always find something I like, and the pub food and atmosphere is good.  Au Coin is a favourite spot for us to grab lunch and a pint, whether after skiing or after a swim in Lac Mercier in the summertime.

And as much as we talk about the pub, don't forget about the restaurant.  The food is great, the menu is diverse and while it's the priciest menu in Old Tremblant, it's worth it.

December 2021 Update
Au Coin is now under new ownership.  The charming interior has remained, but the menu has been upgraded and everything is excellent, including the service.  Not inexpensive - the main courses are $25-45 - but there are some nice appetizers and bar snacks as well that are more affordable.  Beer list is still limited but the wine list is better.  We will be returning often!
