Before we even *talk* about car rental options, the first question we should discuss is whether you actually need a car in the first place. The answer to the question depends on what you want to do. If your plan is to stay in the Intrawest ski village the whole time, then you don't need a car as everything is easily within walking distance. Assuming you've flown into the Mont Tremblant airport, you can get to the village and back via the courtesy shuttles. (By the way, don't confuse "courtesy" with "complimentary"...)
However, if you want to see more of what the Laurentian region has to offer without subscribing to an organized excursion, then renting a car is the only way to go. You can rent cars at the Tremblant airport, who have an arrangement with Discount. I have been unable to figure out how to book a car for pickup at the Tremblant airport via the Discount website...but no worry, you can arrange a rental by calling the Airport at 819-275-9099.
